Nous sommes en 2101. Le monde a été inondé et les villes sont profondément transformées. Pris dans un système virtuel autocratique qui les nourrit avec des frites synthétiques, les protagonistes se demandent combien de temps elles peuvent continuer à s’adapter. Vont-elles réussir à pirater le futur ? Tel est l’argument du Débordement, un récit de science-fiction écrit collectivement lors d’ateliers participatifs à Aix-en-Provence, Berlin, Santiago et Courtrai. En pleine conscience de la violence de notre société et des menaces qui l’abîment, les chorégraphes et danseuses Cécile Bally et Emma Tricard s’emparent de cet univers sombre pour en faire une fable chorégraphique futuriste et déjantée. À partir de la version française du texte, les deux interprètes déroulent une partition corporelle, avec un sens aigu du décalage et de l’autodérision. L’utilisation délibérée de matériaux simples, bricolés avec un humour réjouissant, renforce l’impression constante d’être dans un monde underground. Au carrefour de la danse, du théâtre et de l’absurde, Le Débordement bénéficie aussi des bruitages et de la musique live de Niels Bovri. A sa façon, drôle et fantasque, la pièce révèle ainsi un trio qui tente de se souvenir de son humanité, de réinventer ses propres règles dans une projection librement fantasmée du monde de demain, quelque part entre Tati et la série d’anticipation Black Mirror.

Misty summer morning, Glitch and Copper Key are walking towards Digital Park. They are friends. It’s 2101. The world has been flooded, and yes, that has challenged the urban architecture, As they pass the door of the social wellness facility, the »Safety, Sanity, and Security« sign flashes, and a vague memory pops up : they remember that they don’t remember. Caught in an autocratic virtual world that feeds them with synthetic fries, they wonder how long they can continue to adapt. Will they succeed to hack the future?
Choregrapher Cécile Bally and Emma Tricard create with the foley artist Niels Bovri a performance based on a science-fiction novella that was written collectively with various groups in Kortrijk, Aix-en-Provence, Santiago de Chile, Reims, and Berlin. Drawing from issues affecting each of these local communities, the piece became a political thriller, delving into questions of survival in autocratic (virtual) worlds and ecological collapse.

Die Welt wurde überflutet, und ja, das hat die Architektur seither in Frage gestellt. Als sie vorbeigehen, blinkt das Schild »Safety, Sanity and Security« an der Tür auf. Eine vage Erinnerung taucht auf. Sie erinnern sich, dass sie sich nicht erinnern. Gefangen in einer autokratischen virtuellen Welt, die sie mit synthetischen Pommes füttert, fragen sie sich, wie lange sie sich noch anpassen können? Wird es ihnen gelingen, die Zukunft zu hacken?
Die Choreografinnen Cécile Bally und Emma Tricard kreieren mit dem Geräuschemacher Niels Bovri eine Tanzperformance auf der Grundlage eines Science-Fiction-Romans. Weiterentwickelt aus Textmaterial von Schreibworkshops in Kortrijk, Santiago de Chile, Aix-en-Provence und Berlin wurde Die Ausschreitung zu einem politischen Thriller.
